Reliance Jio won the largest bid in India's 5G spectrum auction on August 1. For a total of Rs 88,078 crore, the business bought 24,740 MHz of spectrum. The Adani Group, which took part in the 5G spectrum auction as surprise competitors, made its first purchase in the telecom industry by acquiring 400 MHz of spectrum for Rs 212 crore.

Bharti Airtel paid Rs 43,084 crore 19,867 MHz airwave that spans multiple bands. According to one of the ET reports, Sunil Mittal, the chairman of Bharti Enterprises, had previously stated that Bharti Airtel was getting ready to roll out its 5G services in October this year.

Jio intends to deploy its 'genuine 5G' network in standalone(SA) mode, which will limit the transmission of 4G signals from cell sites and other equipment to solely 5G signals. Whereas, to offer 5G network speeds, the majority of other carriers, even Bharti Airtel are launching 5G in the non-stanalone(NSA) mode, which bestrides the current 4G infrastructure, like the mid-band spectrum (1800 MHz, 2100MHz bands) with the 3300 MHz band.
