Intex unveils Aqua i6 smartphone

Intex Technologies today launched its latest smartphone Aqua i6 in the Indian market. It is powered by recently introduced MediaTek second generation quad-core platform, the MT6582.

The smartphone is running on Android OS Jelly Bean (4.2.2) and comes with dual camera--a 8.0MP rear camera with flash and 2.0MP.

"The Aqua i6 is the first smartphone to feature the chipset enabling the phone to offer super-fast processing and flawless experience to users. Based on a 28nm process, the chipset is designed for smartphones," the company said.

The phone has an internal memory of 4 GB and can be expanded up to 32GB. The phone offers a host of connectivity options such as 3G, HSPA, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0

"The Online Software update feature helps phone stay updated with the latest software version for smooth operation. The 1900mAh battery lasts for more than six hours and gives a standby time of 220 hours," the company said in a statement.

With the launch of Aqua i6, South Asia's first handset based on the MT6582, we extend our association with Intex Mobile to help bring the world's best technology to the Indian market"," said Dr Finbarr Moynihan, general manager, International Sales and Marketing, MediaTek Inc.

The Aqua i6 has a 5" FWVGA display and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad core processor which accommodates all multitasking requirements with ease such as gaming, downloading videos or sharing content on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms.

The other apps like ‘Matrabhasha' enables smartphone usage in 22 regional languages, including Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, Bengali, Assamese, Punjabi, Gujarati, Sanskrit, Maithili, Marathi, Manipuri, Sindhi, Dogri, Nepali and many more.

"Storing more content got easier with Intex Cloud app which gives free access to 5GB of space. Other pre-loaded apps such as Intex Play helps in downloading popular applications and games while Intex movies doubles up entertainment quotient with one month long free access to latest Bollywood movies," the company said in the statement

The phone will be available at Rs 8990, and will be available in two colours (Black and White) .
