Born
in Kumbakonam, raised in Chennai and educated at Madras Institute of Technology
under Anna University, Chandrasekhar, along with BV Jagdeesh co-found Exodus,
the worldwide leader in the Web hosting space. The company had one of the most
successful IPOs in 1998 and in 1999 Chandrasekhar was honored as the Ernst &
Young Northern California Entrepreneur of the Year. In 1999, he co-found e4e
Inc. Fouress, Inc was the first company he found. Literally speaking, Jamcracker
means a person stationed along the river to look out for potential log jams. The
company plans to replicate that on the Internet. In 1992, when Chandrasekhar was
left with just two months on his work visa, he floated his software consulting
business in his two-bedroom apartment in Cupertino, paying $20 a month for an
