MYSURU: World-renowned tech giant Infosys, in its recently unveiled Sustainability Report, has announced the launch of ‘Comfy’, a third party application to monitor and personalize workspace temperature, at its Mysuru campus. The application works over the building management system and provides instant streams of cool air or warms the space. It also learns from the occupant feedback. Employees act as sensors allowing Comfy to save energy by eliminating over-conditioning and turning off air conditioning in unoccupied spaces.

As part of its sustainability initiatives, Infosys says it has successfully implemented several measures over the last year in its Mysuru campus. Smart water meters were installed in Mysuru campus, along with other campuses, and were linked to the central command center for continuous monitoring of water and thereby optimizing the water consumption through a data-driven approach. Currently, there are 273 smart water meters installed in its Mysuru campus, making a total of 472 smart meters across its campuses in the country.

The Mysuru campus also accounts for 464 kW of installed capacity out of the total 9.7 MW of solar PV across campuses, helping the company in building a low carbon future. Furthermore, the Mysuru campus received a 2 TPD capacity food waste-to-biogas plant of the total 9.25 TPD capacity installed in campuses including Bengaluru, Thiruvanthapuram, Hyderabad, Pune and Bhubaneshwar. The Mysuru campus also witnessed the installation of a composting plant that was a part of the 2.5 TPD capacity of compositing plants installed across various campuses.

The company believes it has a significant role to play in building a better tomorrow. Over the years, the company has significantly reduced its resource footprint through various investments in real-time monitoring to gauge performance, innovative solutions for resource conservation, and strategic partnerships to learn and collaborate. Infosys has partnered with institutions such as Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, University of California, Berkeley, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay, to name a few, to further its research in building energy efficiency.

The company unveiled the Infosys Sustainability Report 2015-16 as per the Global Reporting Initiative G4 guidelines, and is in its ninth consecutive year of reporting on sustainability disclosures.
