Parekh is founder, chairman, and chief technology officer of Comstellar
Technologies. Comstellar develops new technology to enhance the
communication industry. The company concentrates on better or alternative ways
to access networks and transmit data across them. Parekh, who holds a BS degree
in electrical engineering from the LD College of Engineering, India, and a
masters degree in electrical engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of New
York, is also the managing partner, founder and chairman of Redwood Venture
Partners. Redwood is a venture capital firm dedicated to fostering high
technology companies in communications, networking, and related areas. Redwood
Venture, founded in 1997, earned its reputation for successfully investing in
technology companies at their early stages of development.

Previously, Parekh served as vice-president and general manager of Sun
Microelectronics where he created the business unit for Java and Sparc-based
products. Prior to that, Parekh served at Sun Microsystems as vice-president of
engineering as well as the general manager of Java products, heading all ultra
server and workstation product engineering and planning. Before joining Sun, he
was vice-president and general manager with Silicon Graphics. He serves on the
board of directors for many companies, including Tharas Systems, G-Tran, Jedi
Technology, Niksun, Kromos Technology, Magma and PulseCore. He holds several US
patents and has been involved in over 40 investments in high-technology
start-ups. n
