ICICI OneSource Certified as BS7799

ICICI OneSource (I-OneSource), a business process outsourcing (BPO) provider and a member company of ICICI Group, has been certified to the British Security standard BS7799. It is the first BPO firm in India to achieve this certification. BS7799 addresses information security management. It aims to protect an organization's information from a wide range of threats in order to ensure business continuity, maximize on ROI and minimize any damage to the business.

Certification for BS7799 consists of two parts:

1. An assessment of best practices 
2. The establishment of an information security management system to constantly monitor the effectiveness of the security controls

After certification, periodic surveillance audits will be conducted by the Standardization, Testing and Quality Certification Directorate based in New Delhi, to ensure continued compliance. "Information security" is achieved by implementing a set of controls that will ensure the security objectives of the organization are met. These controls can take a variety of forms such as policies, practices, procedures, organizational structures or software functions.
