IBM, Idea Cellular ink pact

IBM has entered into a seven-year contract with Idea Cellular to provide service delivery platform (SDP) to enable the service provider deliver innovative messaging and WAP based content services to its over 50 mn subscribers over 2G and 3G wireless networks in the country.

IBM's SDP will help Idea 'integrate content and applications across all its service lines to deliver consistent high-quality user experience and bring new services to the marketplace more quickly.' This seven-year contract will include delivery of services such as IT systems, software and service for value-added revenue services-content
management, downloading, portal browsing, subscription services, and integration with business support system.

The deal is built on the existing ten-year business transformation pact that IBM had signed with Idea Cellular in March 2007, to integrate, innovate and transform Idea's business processes and IT infrastructure.
