Hutchison Essar announces zero activation

Hutchison Essar has announced a special offer of Zero activation fee for its post-paid cellphone connections.  The promotional offer is valid up to November 30, 2001.  "We are constantly working towards lowering entry barriers and making mobile telephony affordable for people of Delhi," said Harit Nagpal, Vice President - Sales and Marketing, Hutchison Essar.  "By removing the activation charges totally for a limited duration, we are inviting the people of Delhi to go mobile and experience the benefits of our service." With zero activation charges, a subscriber will now have to only pay Rs 1500 as refundable security deposit for a Hutchison Essar post-paid connection, as against Rs 2495 earlier.

In addition to zero activation charges, the company has also announced the 'Try and Subscribe' offer on Nightspeak and Talkathon where the subscriber can opt for either of the services at zero subscription charge for first three months.   The subscriber opting for Nightspeak can talk at special rates of 0.25 paise per 30 seconds between 10:00 p.m. to 08:00 a.m. on both incoming and outgoing calls.  Subscribers opting for Talkathon will be able to talk unlimited on one number of their choice at zero talktime charges on outgoing calls.

Hutchison Essar presently offers a host of premier value added services including national and international roaming in over 82 countries in 186 networks, Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) and Short Messaging Services, Voice Mail Service, Autoroam, Fax and Data etc.  The company was also a prime mover in introducing these value added services in the Delhi circle
