The launch of 'Hutch Access, a feature of the HutchWorld GPRS services, enables users to immediately log onto the internet, even when the user is on the move. .Hutch Access delivers the experience of the 'Mobile Internet' to Indian cellular users. This feature will also be available as OrangeAccess to all Orange users in
Mumbai.
With Hutch Access, the Hutch phone can be used as a mobile modem which can be connected to the PC/ laptop to access the internet. All a customer needs is a GPRS handset and a laptop with any of the three connecting devices. If the mobile phone has a HTML browser, then browsing the internet is possible on the handset itself. If the corporate Intranet of a company is URL based, then even the intranet can be accessed through Hutch Access.
HutchAccess claims that its service is unique because it is available even while roaming to any of the Hutch circles - Mumbai, Delhi, Gujarat, Kolkata, Chennai, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. HutchAccess is available for a monthly rental of just Rs 499. The settings for the phone can be done by just sending 'www' as an SMS to 123. The customer will in return get the settings as a message which he needs to save.
