Hughes Tele.com Crosses Two-lakh Subscriber Mark

Hughes Tele.com (India) Ltd has announced that it has crossed the two-lakh lines mark, having recorded a 70 percent growth in its lines base since January 2002. The company has achieved the two-lakh milestone by adding over 82,000 lines in less than a year's time. Speaking on the occasion, Ajay Pandey, Chief Operating Officer (COO), Hughes Tele.com said, "We see our achievement of being the first private basic operator to cross the two lakh subscriber base in fixed lines, as a great milestone and a tremendous motivating factor for us to grow sizably in the competitive telecom industry. In the months to come, we are looking at aggressively leveraging our superior solutions based approach and demonstrating to our customers the value we can bring them, by virtue of our broadband network and differentiated services, to meet their voice and data needs." Hughes Tele.com recorded revenues of over Rs 276 crore in 2001-02. The company, with employee strength of 750 employees, has also been awarded the ISO 9001:2000 certification in August 2002.
