Huawei website enables IPv6

Huawei has transitioned to IPv6, www.huawei.com is permanently made accessible through IPv6 from June 6, 2012. This move also accelerates the global momentum of IPv6 deployment.

On World IPv6 Day in 2011, an event organized by the Internet Society, Huawei go through the IPv6 deployment test. Huawei is actively involved in the deployment of IPv6 and cooperates with many top international operators, including Vodafone (U.K.), France Telecom, SingTel (Singapore), China Mobile, China Telecom, and China Unicom, said a statement.

Huawei has verified interim technical solutions, proposed the next-generation IPv6 migration roadmap, and designed solutions to address IPv4 address exhaustion. Huawei has also successfully deployed interim technical solutions to overcome the challenges of large-scale deployment of private IP addresses on live networks.

Gai Gang, President of Huawei Carrier IP Product Line, said, "Networks, services, and terminals are curbing IPv6 deployment. At present, Huawei is capable of providing an industry-leading end-to-end IPv6 solution that integrates equipment, applications, and services. Huawei's active participation in the World IPv6 Launch is only the starting point in our ongoing support of global efforts to further develop the IPv6 industry."

"Huawei provides over 70% of the network equipment used for China's Next Generation Internet (CNGI), the world's largest IPv6 network, which has operated stably for seven years," added the statement.

With cooperation from China Mobile, China Telecom, and China Unicom, Huawei has successfully deployed IPv6 networks in cities across China, including Shenzhen and Shanghai.
