Huawei signs MoU with Batelco

Huawei and Batelco have signed a new memorandum of understanding (MoU) which will see the two companies deepen their strategic alliance in developing future projects within Bahrain and across the globe.

The new alliance reinforces the interest of both companies to collaborate and to pursue future opportunities that will advance Batelco's global telecommunication assets including network performance improvement and business consultancy.

The agreement was signed by Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Chairman of Batelco, and Mr. Shi Yaohong, President of Huawei Middle East, during the Bahrain-China Business Forum held recently in Beijing, China. Attending the signing ceremony was HE Dr. Hassan A. Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce - Kingdom of Bahrain, Yang Weiguo, Council Member of China-Arab Friendship Association, and Angela Yang, GM of Batelco Group Key Account, Huawei.

Shaikh Hamad said, " Huawei has been a key partner in providing Batelco with innovative telecommunications solutions over the past few years and we appreciate their invaluable contribution towards our successful delivery of key services for our customers."

Over the past decade, Huawei and Batelco have collaborated on many of the milestones projects in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the countries where the telco operates in, including the first next generation network deployment, high speed internet broadband and the release of several Huawei consumer devices over the past year including the recent launch of the Huawei Ascend P1 smartphone.
