NEW DELHI:Chinese telecoms giant Huawei Technologies today announced the commencement of their ‘My City in Black and White photo campaign.
This campaign, aims at inspiring Photo aficionados to get outdoors and capture the essence of their city.
"Users are encouraged to click their cities as they see fit, capturing what they feel differentiates their city from the rest. All entries must be in monochrome as color is noise and to truly capture the essence of something it’s essential to go noise free," the company said in a statement.
Entries can be uploaded across multiple platforms like Facebook, Twitter & Instagram. Participants must remember to add the hash-tags #OO and #MyCityInBnW to ensure that their entries are taken into consideration for the contest," the statement said.
This contest which runs from 5th August till 13thAugust will be judged by Sumit Dayal, who was crowned CNN’s Indian Instagrammer of the Year, 2015 and is widely known for covering Afghanistan, India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Bhutan to highlight the plight of societies, disappearing cultural traditions and changing landscapes of South Asia.
“Capturing something in color is to capture their appearance but capturing something in Black and White is akin to capturing their essence” said Dayal.
“I am both delighted with the concept and excited to judge this contest” he added.
With the lucky winners getting 9 Passes for an exclusive Huawei Product launch event, along with a chance to meet Sumit himself, Huawei is truly offering Indian Photo enthusiasts an exhilarating experience to be a part of something which will certainly elevate smartphone photography.
