Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider has closed 2012 with a record sales of CNY 220 billion.
In terms of net profit, the company registered CNY 15 billion in 2012. The company is planning to grow at the rate of 10 percent CAGR for the next five years.
"Despite challenging global economic conditions, Huawei achieved robust growth in 2012 through intense customer focus and improved operational efficiency. We enjoyed steady revenue development, recording sales of CNY220 billion, as well as net profit of CNY15 billion. In the next five years, we expect to realize a compound annual growth rate of 10 percent," said CT Johnson, Huawei's corporate controller.
At the analyst summit the company shared insights into ICT industry developments Huawei's strategies for reaching the company's growth targets over the next half decade.
With the advent of a new digital revolution, intelligent infrastructure will drive ICT technological advancement and users will increasingly demand and expect access to high bandwidth with zero wait time. As ICT convergence continues and information technology advances rapidly, mobile communications will become one of the key drivers of economic growth, introducing billions of people to the infinite possibilities of a connected lifestyle.
"The world today is experiencing an unprecedented rate of change. New trends such as mobility, cloud computing, big data, and social networking are guiding this industry towards a new competitive landscape. The Internet of Things (M2M), e-commerce, and digital media are driving massive changes in many traditional industries," said Will Zhang, president of Huawei's Corporation Strategy Department.
