Between the IT and non-IT industries, the Indian job market is currently in a peculiar situation. While IT companies are going slow amid the panic over a looming recession, the growth of non-IT sectors induced by digitization is driving promising hiring growth for India. The idea of simplifying operations by harnessing the power of automation has clearly activated the need for tech talent across non-IT sectors. Moreover, the recent adoption of digitization after the onslaught of the pandemic, coupled with positive government policies, is the key reason for this incredible growth.

As per recent reports and stats, the employment opportunities for people in the non-tech industry have been witnessing a steep hike, making more than 1.5 lakhs opportunities for people, including both tech and non-tech roles in the last few months. Moreover, there has been a 25-30% increase in the hiring contribution from the non-IT sector in the past 6 months.

To paint the picture on a more positive note, hiring specifically in technology roles in non-IT sectors will continue to witness continuous growth in the upcoming months. In fact, the recent slowdown in the IT sector will soon be replaced by the massive hiring growth in the non-IT sectors.

Earlier, the key focus was profit making, which has now diverged to increasing customer stickiness. The centralized technology solutions to optimize backend and frontend operations have persuaded entrepreneurs to simplify their operational capabilities. As a result, these industries are trusting cutting-edge technology solutions to innovate and create new ideas for seamless operations while driving demand for hiring professionals in technology.

To name a few, sectors, including hospitality & tourism, FMCG, real estate, automotive, etc., will continue to hire professionals in various roles. The sectors with a crucial presence in the hiring this year will be BFSI, telecom, healthcare, consulting, etc.

The key reason for the telecom industry to flourish even more this year is the successful rollout of 5G last year. Businesses in the telecom industry have been hiring skilled professionals to run the 5G framework seamlessly for streamlined execution.
