GSM subscriber base rises by 1.16% in March

GSM operators have added a total of 8.26 mn subscribers in March, a 1.16 percent rise from the previous month, taking the total user base to 721.93 mn, according to data released by Cellular Operators' Association of India (COAI).

During the month, Airtel recorded addition of 1.89 mn users with its total subscriber base at 205.39 mn, Vodafone recorded addition of 2.22 mn users and Idea Cellular added 2.24 mn subscribers. .

Circle-wise, Uttar Pradesh (East) added the most with 63.86 mn users.
