Gionee launches E6 smartphone for Rs 26,000

Gionee Communication Equipment on Thursday launched its ELIFE series E6 flagship smartphone in the Indian market.

The new device is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, 2 GB RAM and 31 GB of onboard memory.

The device comes with a non-removable 2020 mAh battery. It has a 13 megapixel rear camera with BIS (backside illumination technology) sensor for better low light photography and 5 megapixel front-facing camera. The company also claims that it has modified Android ROM software to allow users quickly and easily capture high quality images and videos.

It has designed the phone with flat sides so that the phone can be kept standing on any flat surface to take group shots. The camera also supports panorama, HDR etc.

As the world's first White OGS phone, its 2.54 mm narrow edge and 6.18 mm thin miniature size allows it to slide comfortably into buyers pockets.

Supplying what is truly important to them in terms of quality, performance and affordability - all in a stylish and sophisticated design," said William Lu, VP, Gionee Communication Equipment.

The smartphone has DTS 3D stereo surround with speakers placed on the sides of the phone instead at the back. It also has dual mic for noise cancellation. The device has also tweaked the user interface of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

The device has been launched for Rs 26,000 and would be made available in India starting first week of August, 2013.
