NEW DELHI: Genpact, a global provider of business services and technology
solutions, today announced that it has begun constructing its new operations
center in the Omega Industrial Park in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.
The facility, which broke ground in March of 2006, will replace an existing
center currently operating in Juarez downtown. Once operational, the center will
join two additional Genpact operations in the Americas and 22 others across the
globe.
The facility will span 125,000 square feet and is expected to generate more
than 2,000 jobs in areas ranging from software development for imaging and
document management to customer service, finance and accounting and collections.
Among these will be 400 higher-end jobs requiring a college degree or
equivalent.
Construction of the facility, which is scheduled to open in the second
quarter of 2007, is being managed by Intermex Group and is expected to cost
approximately $8.5 million with an additional $6 million in technology needs.
