Garmin Asus launches A10 , its first Android Navigation phone

Garmin-Asus, the co-branded alliance between Garmin and AsusTek has launched Garmin-Asus A10, its first Android navigation smartphone for the Indian users. The Garmin-Asus A10 is a touchscreen smartphone working on Android 2.1 platform. This phone has multiple navigation modes like Professional Pedestrian Navigation and In-car Navigation.

This phone boasts on features like “Geotagging” wherein a geotagged photo can be sent to friends who can then initiate navigation to the location by simply clicking on it. It also supports services like Ciao, Flight Status, Currency convertor and Weather Updates.Detailed maps are preloaded on the A10 so that users do not have to pay and wait for third party maps to download from a server, nor will they lose their turn-by-turn, voice-prompted navigation if they are out of cell phone.

The A10 also features pedestrian navigation functionality and an electronic compass, making it ideal for city navigation.coverage. It can be readily used in used as it comes with a audio mount that magnifies the volume of the handset's voice commands. The car mount automatically switches the A10 to hands-free mode when the phone is docked and records the final GPS location when the phone is removed, enabling users to home in on their parking locations with ease. The car mount features will be sold separately.Once mounted, the car mount will recharge the phone automatically. A built-in speaker of car mount amplifies the volume of calls and of sounds from the handset.
