Ericsson has been named as the top CSP in operational technology in research firm Gartner’s market share analysis.
The ‘Communications Service Provider (CSP) Operational Technology, Worldwide, 2013’ report places Ericsson as worldwide market share leader for CSP, which is a combination of carrier network infrastructure, telecom operations management systems (BSS, OSS and SDP) and network infrastructure services.
The report combined carrier network infrastructure and telecom operations management systems, and added market shares for network infrastructure services. In the report, Ericsson software and software services revenues were ranked first in market share in 2013.
Ericsson’s agile software and software services enable CSPs to increase the performance of their business resources with customer-facing software and to plan, build, run and support the performance and availability of their networks and IT resources with network-facing software, a statement said.
Gartner’s CSP Operational Technology worldwide market share data report comprises all vendor solutions, designed to specifically cater to the CSP vertical, including network and network services, as well as infrastructure and application software and services and corresponding services. It excludes solutions
that are not CSP-specific, even if sourced by CSPs, such as data center solutions and handsets.
Per Borgklint, senior vice-president and head of Ericsson’s business unit support solutions, says: “We believe Gartner’s CSP operational technology analysis further validates our position in the market and commitment to providing customers with innovative, integrated solutions that lower their costs and increase revenues even as they bring complex new services to market.
“Ericsson is proud to be recognized following the significant work we’ve done to bolster our value proposition as a global OSS/BSS solution provider through strategic acquisitions and investments that have also strengthened our global consulting and system integrator exposure.”
