Emerson Network Power has introduced Liebert XDR in India, which is a rear-door heat exchanger that removes heat from IT racks before it enters the data center.
The cooling solution can covers high density servers in a small footprint thereby eliminating the need for expansion or new facilities in Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs).
The heat exchangers are mounted in a moveable door, which is fixed to a frame attached to the rear of the rack and relies on server fans for hot air movement across a cooling coil, utilizing a pumped refrigerant that is 700 percent more efficient at removing heat than water.
''The Liebert XDR saves on both as there is no need for fans to move heat across the room to wall or floor-mounted cooling systems. This translates into energy savings up to 48 percent compared to perimeter cooling, apart from the capital cost savings from not needing to expand or build a new facility to cope with growing business needs,'' said BB. Kale, country manger, cooling products , Emerson Network Power.
The solution is designed to cool up to 20 kW of rack load, even in environments that may not be arranged in a hot aisle/cold aisle configuration. The refrigerant also terminates any danger of equipment damage from water leakage.
