Vaishnaw Allocates Handling Unstarred Parliament Questions to Devusinh Chauhan
Notably, the allocated work includes handling assurances, special mention in Rajya Sabha, and laying of annual reports. The work also will include sharing rules and regulations related to telecom ministry, authentication of papers. This workload will also include matters related to official languages. The Ministry of Communications communicated the same in an order issued on Tuesday.
The order read, "further, the files of unstarred Parliament questions , except questions having policy implications and on sensitive issues, would be submitted by wing heads (member finance, member services, member technology, additional secretary telecom, USOF administrator) to the minister of state for communications".
Notably, Chauhan is the Minister of State for Communications, having taken charge at the same time as Vaishnaw in a cabinet reshuffle earlier this month. The same reshuffle saw Vaishnaw replace Ravi Shankar Prasad as the IT and Telecom Minister. He replaced BJP leader Sanjay Shamrao Dhotre, and took charge of his portfolio a week ago, on July 8th.
