Data Access inks Rs 100 cr equity deal

Data Access (India), has signed a deal with a global consortium of private equity fund managers for about Rs 100 crore, said industry sources.

The company is one of four providers of international phone services in India, including Mumbai based Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd. 

Data Access has undergone an IPO filing, which is expected to amount to one billion dollars. The issue from Data Access is a JV between India's SPA Enterprises Ltd, and Hong Kong's dominant fixed-line company, PCCW Ltd.

Data Access recently dumped its dial-up Internet access business NOW ISP, the process of which is likely to be completed by the end of November 2004.
