D-Link to Launch New Range of Routers

D-Link (India), a networking solution provider, is all set to launch a new range of routers in the market, shortly. Aiming to launch by February, the new routers would be in both mid and hi-end segments, competing with international brands like Cisco, Nortel and 3Com. "Presently, the router market is shared by these leading vendors and it is a quite promising market for the players. D-Link will offer a technology superior product at a competitive price," said SR Venkatraman, Branch Manager, D-Link (India).

Meanwhile, D-Link has launched its `NetVision 2003' program for showcasing its latest products to both resellers and end-users. The roadshow would be conducted across India covering all major cities and towns. "In February, we are conducting shows in Madurai and Coimbatore where we will showcase our latest Layer 3 switches, wireless and VoIP products," he said. On the reseller front, D-Link would be organizing its DCCI (D-Link Certified Cable Integrators) and DCNI (D-Link Certified Network Installers) program in Chennai, Madurai and Coimbatore where 12-15 resellers would be identified and trained from each region.

The company is upbeat about its products and offering in areas such as leased line, DSL, wireless and
VoIP. "Recently, we have started concentrating more on wireless solutions," said
Venkatraman.

D-Link is planning also to revive its motherboard market share and betting on its relationship with Gigabyte. "We will be involved in more brand building exercise in the coming days by putting up demo centers in the customers' place to emphasis D-Link's quality and ruggedness of the products," he added.
