Compulsory Registration for Prepaid Implemented in Delhi

All Delhi Cellular operators came together under on umbrella and decided to
follow the directives of DoT requiring compulsory registration of all new and
existing prepaid connections. At a joint conference organized by Cellular
Operators Association of India, the existing operators Hutchison Essar, AirTel,
and MTNL reiterated their commitment to government directive. Even Idea Cellular
(earlier known as Birla Tata-AT&T) which is slated to launch their services
in Delhi later this year joined in the initiative. Users of prepaid cards will
now have to furnish photocopy of one of the following documents:

1.
Income Tax PAN card

2.
Photo Credit card

3.
Photo Identity Card issued any statutory/government authority

4.
Passport

5.
Arms License

6.
Driving License

7.
Voter ID Card

All operators agreed
