CommWorks, a 3Com Company, announced that it will open a new technology center in Bangalore, India, in November. The center will be set up and managed by Mascon Global. "As a regional technology hub of CommWorks, this center will be the primary interface during product development and support between the U.S. and our regional  customers and partners," said Venkatesh Koravadi, Business Director of the center for CommWorks. "We evaluated different countries and locations in Asia and selected Bangalore because it offers a strong pool of telecom engineers and a host of technology partners." "By eliminating the time difference we can work more effectively with our regional partners and customers," said Chandru Bolaki, Technical Director of the center for CommWorks. "The center will initially provide the sustaining R&D for our market leading wireless access products. We have plans to grow the center rapidly and execute significant development
projects across our product lines." "The confidence of CommWorks in extending their R&D efforts to the Asia Technology Center is a testimony to the technical competence of our team," said Dr. Ram Udupa, President of Communications Technologies Division of Mascon. "I am confident we will make it a mutually rewarding experience." "India continues to be a high-growth market for all of our product lines, and our investment in a regional technology center demonstrates our strong commitment  to this market," said Vijay Yadav, country manager for CommWorks. "With closer proximity to customers and partners, we can more rapidly address product design and customization issues that are unique to service providers in India."
