COAI Calls Reliance Foul

Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) has accused Reliance Infocomm of offering predatory prices to pre-paid subscribers in Chennai and Tamil Nadu circles, for national and inter-circle calls. It has sought TRAI's intervention in this regard, saying that these tariffs amount to non-complying with TRAI's prescribed IUC regime.

This is not the first time the COAI has made charges against Reliance, and TRAI had previously dismissed COAI's allegation against Reliance saying that differential tariffs in the retail segment were permissible as long as the service provider met the IUC expenses on weighted average basis.
