Cisco strengthens its switch portfolio

Cisco Systems today announced significant enhancements to its switch portfolio. The portfolio announced today included a new supervisor engine for Catalyst 6500 switch and the new Cisco Catalyst 3750. Cisco Systems is the leader in the switching market in India and had 48% market share (Source: IDC, Dec 2002). Speaking about the launch of the new products, S V Ramana, Vice President - Systems Engineering, Cisco Systems India & SAARC said, "Switching is the biggest selling product category in Cisco"s revenues globally. In India too, Cisco has been gaining market share through best of breed products with the most comprehensive product portfolio. The introduction of these upgrades and new products will further strengthen our position in the market."
