Cisco launches new network management solution

Cisco has launched a new network management solution for the small and medium business networks. Named CiscoWorks Small Network Solution (CW SNMS), the new product, Cisco officials claimed, offers a cost-effective, comprehensive network management capabilities. Incidentally, the solution has been developed with a major contribution from Cisco's Bangalore-based development centre. Launching the product in New Delhi, Abhik Biswas, manager, product marketing, network management services, Cisco Systems (India), claimed that SNMS solution was different from similar other products in the market. ''Existing products either provide good functionality for devices or tend to become a generic tool but seldom both. The CW SNMS, on the contrary, is perfectly positioned as a solution that satisfies the need of a strong element manager for Cisco device management along with a generic tool that will monitor third party non-Cisco devices as well,'' he added. Biswas said that it was a simple tool that would save valuable time for the management staff and held them do more with less.
