Celkon Mobiles rope in A R Rahman for its smartphone offerings

Celkon Mobiles, a Hyderbad based mobile phone maker, has roped in music legend A R Rahman for its next series of smartphones. Soon the company is going to launch four smartphones in the same series.

Branded as 'RahmanIshq,' the smartphones will come in four variants basis their screen size and specifications. Sources in the company said that Celkon made 'Rahmanishq' phones will come in 3.5 inch, 4 inch, 4.5 inch and 5 inch screen size and would be priced in the range of Rs 5,000 to Rs 12,000.

The 3.5 inch version will not be a pure smartphone and would come with a 5 megapixel camera. The 4.5 inch and 5 inch variants will run on latest android OS and will have a 8 megapixel camera.

The Rahmanishq labeled phones would coincide with the global tour of Oscar winning Indian music legend A R Rahman that starts in October, and Celkon is planning to launch the Rahmanishq series of phones during the same event.

The source also mentioned that A R Rahman is slated to launch the phones in Mumbai in the third week of September.
