CCI probes against Google for anti-competitive practices

Google is charged with anti-competitive practices in India. "Competition Commission of India (CCI) has received a complaint for contravention of section 4 of the Competition Act, 2002," said R.P.N. Singh, Minister of State in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.

CCI has now launched a probe against Google. It received a complaint by consumer advocacy group, Consumer Unity and Trust Society (CUTS) International, against anti-competitive practices adopted by the company.

Section 4 pertains to the abuse of dominant position by a market player.
