The video collaboration solution will enable seamless connectivity with project sites, offshore oil rigs and customers overseas. Cairn India will also look to implement Polycom RealPresence video collaboration solutions on mobile and tablet devices for senior management and sales teams, for business continuity, customer relationship management and remote inspection purposes.

The high definition audio and video technology has enabled Cairn India to speed critical decision-making and improve team meeting experiences throughout the company. With increased collaboration between corporate headquarters and teams and operations in isolated sites as a major requirement for Cairn India, Polycom's open, standards-based, secure video collaboration solutions is one of the key factors in Cairn India's decision to partner with Polycom.

Cairn India is primarily engaged in oil and gas exploration and production, producing more than 23 per cent of India's crude oil. With several teams spread across multiple project sites, including most in remote locations in India and overseas, the ability to collaborate on mission-critical projects is part of the daily business operations for the company.

Cairn India deployed Polycom video collaboration solutions, including the Polycom HDX 8000 room system and a Polycom RealPresence Immersive solution - Polycom Open Telepresence Experience (OTX)- at the company's head office in Gurgaon, New Delhi, and at various operational sites across the country, to enhance the company's existing UC environment and collaboration capabilities.

The complete solution is powered by the Polycom RealPresence Platform software infrastructure, providing Cairn India with a secure, scalable, reliable and interoperable video collaboration solution that protects their existing IT investments; dramatically reduces time and costs spent on travel; and makes enterprise-grade video easily and securely accessible to authorized personnel whether they're mobile, remote, or on-site.

"Our commitment to open standards protects Cairn India's investments by ensuring backwards- and forwards-compatibility and driving user adoption by integrating video into the company's existing work processes," said Alok Anand, marketing head, Polycom India & SAARC.
