CAG asks DoT to cancel Loop's licences

The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) has aksed the Department of Telecom(DoT) to cancel the mobile licences issued to Loop Telecom as the company did not meet the eligibility criteria at the time of application.

The CAG has also sought an explanation from the telecom department for giving a pan-India mobile permit to the Essar Group-owned Loop Telecom, which it said did not fulfill 'the eligibility criteria for obtaining the permit'.
