C-DoT signs partnership with Galore Networks to develop indigenous 5G RAN products and solutions

The C-DoT and Galore Networks, signed an agreement for collaborative building of indigenous end-to-end 5G RAN products and solutions.

This agreement between C-DoT and a private company is the third of its kind. For the domestic development of 5G RAN products, C-DoT has earlier announced agreements with IIT Hyderabad-incubater WiSig Networks and local telecom equipment manufacturer, VVDN Technologies.

The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) and Galore Networks on Friday, signed an agreement for collaborative building of indigenous end-to-end 5G RAN products and solutions.

According to a press statement from the Press Information Bureau,"This (pact) will operate as a catalyst leading to indigenous design, development, production, and deployment of cost-effective 5G products and solutions."

This joint initiative will also combine the technical know-how and complementary strengths of Indian R&D and industry onto a single, unified platform, opening up new opportunities for the development of indigenous intellectual property (IP) assets that can open up new doors for the expansion and international commercialization of domestic technologies.

Speaking at the event, Dr Rajkumar Upadhyay, Executive Director, C-DOT highlighted the Prime Minister’s vision of “Gati Shakti” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” in emphasizing the underlying potential of India’s great technological prowess that manifests itself in various path-breaking initiatives of local R&D, industry and startups. He underscored the key importance of achieving synergy amongst various participants of the technology ecosystem to spur novel innovation and competitive spirit leading to the development of holistic indigenous solutions in an expeditious manner. 

C-DOT has continued to lay great emphasis on evolving a well-coordinated collaborative framework that supports multiple 5G partners for healthy competition amongst key 5G players in an output-driven and target-oriented environment, the ministry mentioned in a statement.

The gathering also included S Daniel Jebaraj, Director C-DoT, Bangalore as well as other senior C-DoT employees.
