BSNL workers to strike on April 20

The Joint Forum of BSNL Associations/Unions of Executives and Non-Executives have decided to organize one day strike on 20th April, 2010 protesting against the proposals to retrench one lakh workers through VRS, disinvest 30% in BSNL, to unbundle the valuable copper cables and outsourcing. The demands also include settlement of ITS officers absorption, issue of purchase order for 93 million GSM lines and revision of IDA pension to the BSNL retired employees.

The BSNL workers will organize massive Dharna at BSNL Corporate Office at New Delhi, Circle (State) Head Quarters and at SSA (District) Head Quarters on 26th March, 2010 in preparation for the strike.

The Joint Forum strongly protests against the decision of the BSNL Board to implement the anti-BSNL decisions of Pitroda Panel.

The Joint Forum had already approached Prime Minister, Communications Minister, Secretary, DoT and CMD BSNL to concede the justified demands of the workers and settle the issues.
