BSNL Unveils Infoline Services

BSNL in association with VoiceGate has introduced BSNL Infoline, a 24-hour interactive voice-based response system (IVRS) that provides information about BSNL products and services to all its customers in Andhra
Pradesh. 

According to CGM of BSNL, Andhra Pradesh Circle Sanjaya Kumar, local call charges will apply if the call originates from within Hyderabad and regular 95-dialing charges will be applicable if the call originates from outside
Hyderabad. 

The franchisee call center (VoiceGate) will provide manual assistance between 9.30 am and 8 pm on all working days. "The IVRS has pre-recorded information on the points of availability of the products and services along with contact numbers. This is an attempt to diversify the services being offered throughout the state," he added.

Under Rashtravani, VoiceGate has tied up with the Andhra Pradesh government allowing subscribers to enter their consumer ID for enquiries about water bill and property tax. Highlighting the services, VoiceGate Technologies MD Syed Mohammed said that by just dialing one number, customers could enquire about anything from water bills to property tax to cricket updates. 

The system is connected to the servers of the e-governance project of the Government of Andhra Pradesh-eSeva, which in turn is connected to various state departments. By dialing 1255225, the customers can have access to all the public service, academic, and talent search examination results. To hear examination results on the phone, subscribers are required to enter the respective hall ticket numbers on their BSNL phones.

For cricket-lovers, ball-by-ball updates of the forthcoming Asia Cup 2004 series in Sri Lanka would be made available on 125221. Not just this, the subscribers would also get to hear cricket updates of any match being played in India.

VoiceGate is also providing tv9 Infoline wherein customers will have access to the contests and opinion polls based on the programs being aired on tv9 channel. Besides this, information about the procedure of making passport applications and general information about the services offered by the respective passport offices, will be provided through this service by dialing 1250244.
