BSNL to fix QoS issues in landline/ broadband services

In a response to the complaints from customers regarding the Quality of Service (QoS) of landline/ broadband services of BSNL and MTNL; the Minister of State for Communications and IT, Milind Deora informed to Lok Sabha that the glitch was mainly due to damage of underground cable on account of massive road expansion work, laying of water pipelines, sewerage etc.

The minister added that BSNL has taken initiatives to enhance the QoS. In order to improve BSNL services, BSNL is co-ordinating with local authorities to minimise the cable cuts. The company is rehabilitating and upgrading outdoor netwroks; it is prompting repairing of underground cable faults.

The company is closely monitoring network operation through information technology enabled systems i.e through the introduction of computerized fault repair service.
