NEW DELHI: In a move to further strengthen its mobile security technology, BlackBerry has named David Kleidermacher as its new chief security officer.
Kleidermacher will be responsible for product security and lead the company’s global product security group, which is involved in security research and development, product management, ethical hacking, certifications, etc.
He served as the chief technology officer at embedded software maker Green Hills Software, where he spent more than two decades.
At Blackberry, he replaces Scott Totzke, who left the Waterloo, Ontario-based company last summer and is now the senior vice president of device and enterprise security at Chinese telecom equipment company Huawei Technologies Co.
"David's knowledge of securing the Internet of Things and embedded systems will be invaluable as we execute on our strategy," said John Chen, Chief Executive Officer, BlackBerry.
