Batelco to introduce 4G LTE at BIC

Batelco has introduced 4G LTE service at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC). in preparation for the 2013 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix which begins on 19th April, 2013.

This is the first international racing circuit in the Middle East to offer 4G LTE mobile communications.

Batelco, which was the first Bahrain operator to deliver the superfast 4G LTE for its customers, continues with the rollout of the in-demand technology throughout the Kingdom of Bahrain.

To mark the occasion of 4G LTE for the BIC, Batelco Bahrain CEO Rashid Abdulla met with BIC chief executive Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa to present him with an LTE enabled mobile device.

Batelco Bahrain CEO Rashid Abdulla said that Batelco was very pleased to deliver 4G LTE capability for the International Circuit in preparation for the 2013 Bahrain Grand Prix event.

Batelco, which is a proud partner of the BIC, has been delivering integrated communications services for the BIC and the annual Grand Prix since the beginning. Each year, we raise the bar to ensure that our delivery matches or surpasses the services available at other leading circuits added Abdulla.

BIC chief executive Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa extended his appreciation to Abdulla and Batelco for their reliability in finalising the provisioning of the latest technology for BIC.

"By being able to provide superfast 4G LTE to visitors, BIC becomes the first International Racing Circuit in the Middle East to offer permanent 4G LTE technology. This meets with our commitment to be amongst the top venues when it comes to quality of services provided," said Shaikh Salman.

Both Batelco and BIC share a common goal to position the Kingdom of Bahrain as a leading destination for business and leisure and accordingly continually upgrade and enhance their services by investing annually in their infrastructures added Salman.
