Ban on bulk SMS revoked

The Government has withdrawn the ban imposed on bulk SMS.The ban was imposed till Monday night as a preventive measure to check any large scale propaganda post the Ayodhya verdict.

The ban on bulk SMSes and MMSes was first imposed on September 22 which was later extended till October 4th. This means that from today mobile users will once again start getting all type of bulk messages. Critical messaging services offered by ticket booking agencies, financial service providers, telecom operators and banks had already been permitted.
