As various cell operators in the country unite to fight against the cut throat competition thrown open by Reliance’s WLL offerings, the state government of Andhra Pradesh is all set to leverage on the offerings by Reliance once it rolls out its plethora of CDMA based services all over the country. "We are seriously looking forward to their CDMA handset offering as a viable option for connecting a number of villages and far off places within the state," said a state official on condition of anonymity.
This could prove to be the best option for a number of states within the country as Reliance’s handsets powered by CDMA technology would provide the best way to connect the far-flung areas within India. As of now AP has a number of
e-governance projects going on in areas such as Kuppam and Khammam apart from the much-touted e-sewa program at
Hyderabad and surrounding areas.
"The state government of AP has always made a difference in terms of governance and this time also we are going to be the first to adopt to this technology on a large scale," the official added.
