How is Wesley Clover shaping up its presence in the Indian communications
market?

We are shaping up pretty well with our strategy to address niche areas,
through our IP-based solutions. Also, we are able to offer complimentary and
synergetic product portfolio from our group companies to address various
applications in two distinct segments, ie, enterprise and carrier. With our
capability to put together solutions from within our group, we are focusing on
hospitality, financial, BPO, transport and infrastructure segments with our
enterprise, video and security solutions portfolio.

On the other hand, we shall also be addressing the carrier infrastructure
market with our portfolios in the Broadband, Microwave Ethernet backhaul
solutions for 3G and WiMax and Lawful Interception systems.

Wesley Clover had earlier (in 2007) announced an investment of $10 mn in
order to strengthen its presence in the Indian market through acquisitions and
other related aspects. Where exactly have you reached?

One can say that in a short term we have a commitment of $10 mn, however if it
is required to be increased to reach our goals, we shall not shy away from it.

Secondly, when we made our India plan, we had already considered having a
development center to demonstrate our commitment to this market, and to develop
the feature sets required, in addition to supporting our group companies to use
the Indian development center for their international operations as well.
Keeping this objective in mind, we have acquired a development center at Pune
which is now part of our Wesley Clover operations.

In terms of our investment plans, we are looking at a timeline of at least
five years for planning, and our objective is to attain our global market
average for our products and solutions in a 3-4 years time frame. We would like
to make our India operations self-sufficient and develop it into a competence
center for this region.

What is your vision for the Indian IP communications market? What are the
major challenges on this front?

The Indian IP communications market is just ripe to grow to new heights. All
new networks are likely to be based on IP technology and NGN. Earlier, planners
were having doubts about maturity of technology, interoperability and other
regulatory issues. Now it seems that everyone is convinced about its benefits
and recognizes that this is the technology of the future.
