Alcatel-Lucent introduces IP router

Alcatel-Lucent has introduced two IP routers designed to give service provider an alternative for offering smaller communities the same advanced mobile, residential and business services currently delivered in large metropolitan areas. These new products will extend the benefits of service routing further out into the network and also enable verticals such as utilities, transportation, healthcare, public safety and financial institutions to transform their network to all-IP with a solution scaled to their needs. “Alcatel-Lucent continues to build out and strengthen its IP portfolio with innovations such as introduced 100GE interface, targeted at massive bandwidth requirements, and now with our new high performance platform dimensioned for smaller point of presence,” said Basil Alwan, President, Alcatel-Lucent.
