Akamai Technologies appoints new MD

Akamai Technologies has announced the appointment of Sidharth Malik as the new vice president and managing director for Akamai India.

A proven business leader and strategist in the technology space for over 18 years, Sidharth will be responsible for managing and expanding Akamai's India operations. He will be based out of Bangalore and report directly to Sanjay Singh, senior vice president & general manager of Asia Pacific & Japan (APJ).

His experience and deep understanding of the changing local market will help us develop unique solutions, enter new verticals and provide great customer experiences to accelerate our growth in the country added Singh.

Sidharth has served as senior director of Developer Platform Business at Microsoft India in the past. Under his leadership the business doubled up in less than 3 years. He also served as managing director, South Asia for Telelogic AB, where he was credited with building a dynamic organization of more than 600 employees, while also expanding revenue margins, making it the company's second largest operation in Asia Pacific.

Sidharth has also worked in various senior roles at IBM, Salesforce.com and Tata Elxsi.

Sidharth holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science & Engineering, and a Master's Degree in Business Management.
