AirTel's New Railway Enquiry Service

AirTel has become the first cellular operator in the country to provide an exclusive voice based Railway Enquiry system for its customers on their cellphones. The post paid as well as pre-paid customers of AirTel will be able to access all information pertaining to Indian Railways including train schedules and reservation status by dialing 131/1335/1330 from their handsets. AirTel customers can now make enquiries on the move and access information with much ease.

AirTel will be using the dedicated lines for 1330/1335 made available by the Indian Railways for providing easy access to information thereby considerably reducing the waiting period and putting an end to the customer's predicament of calling the Railway enquiry number again and again. AirTel customers can dial 131 for manual assistance and 1330/1335 for the IVRS based information. The service will be available at a nominal rate of Rs. 2 per 30 second for post-paid customers and at Rs. 2.50 per 30 second for Magic customers.

According to Mr. Sarvjit S. Dhillon, CEO, Bharti's cellular operations for the Delhi Hub, "The launch of the railway enquiry facility demonstrates our commitment of delivery of innovative products and services to our customers and is aimed at providing enhanced customer convenience."
