Bharti Airtel intends to undertake restructuring exercise in its businesses, which is expected to have 'minimal impact' on jobs. The company has opted for an outsourcing model and created efficiency. "Such initiatives wherever and whenever appropriate will find favour," the firm stated in a statement without elaborating on the restructuring plans as reported by CIOL.
Earlier, Bharti Airtel had announced that it will merge three separate businesses, which includes mobile, satellite TV, and fixed-line, broadband telemedia business. The businesses jointly account for about 90 per cent of its revenues. An earlier report estimated the job losses to be more than 2,000.
