Airtel, Aircel plans to acquire Qualcomm broadband biz

Bharti Airtel and Aircel Cellular are keen on acquiring the Indian wireless broadband business of Qualcomm.

According to reports Bharti Airtel is interested in Qualcomm's airwaves and permits for Delhi, complementing the 3G frequencies it won in the circle earlier this year. Airtel has 3G spectrum in Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, UP (East) and Rajasthan. There are reports that Qualcomm is considering two options for the sale of its broadband wireless business.
