Leading technology-media company, CyberMedia (India), has been ranked as the
top business publishing house in the country, as per the US-based American
Business Media's (ABM) report Business Media Opportunities in India. The
report was prepared by Business Strategic Group (BSG) of Hong Kong, a major
Asian business intelligence and consultancy firm. The report has also identified
IT publications as the biggest segment among specialized publications. "I
am glad that CyberMedia's contribution and position in business publishing is
being recognized by an independent body. I would attribute this success to our
strategy of identifying niche high-growth areas such as IT, communications and
bio-tech, and focusing on them," said Pradeep Gupta, chairman and MD of
CyberMedia.
American Business Media is one of the biggest organizations that deal in
tracking the best practices of leading media companies worldwide. It has 229
member companies and over 3,000 print and electronic titles. Business Strategies
Group of Hong Kong is Asia's leading strategic planning and market research
organization focusing on business-to-business media.

CyberMedia has been ranked as the No. 1 business publisher in a group of six
top publishers who, the report says, "between them, account for 67 percent
of the market." The other companies that feature in the ranking are the ABP
Group (Business World); Living Media (Business Today), Jasubhai Group (Digit,
Network Computing, Developer 2.0, Computer Reseller News); Business India
(Business India); and Express Business Publications Division (Express Computers,
Network Magazine), respectively. The report takes into account the groups'
revenue only from their business publications. In CyberMedia's case, it has
not taken into account the revenue from other activities like events and market
research.
Calling CyberMedia "one of the best established of the business
publishers in India," the report has also listed three of the group's
publications-Living Digital, PCQuest, and Dataquest-among the top five IT
publications in the country, as ranked by circulation figures. The report also
says that IT publications account for more than 50 percent of the specialized
business publications in India. This is the first major report on the business
media market in India.
