India is on the verge of a digital revolution, driven by rising broadband and internet usage. Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio, two of India's largest telecom service providers, have started deploying 5G services in a number of locations and anticipate that the next-generation network would go worldwide in 2024.

You can now use 5G mobile networks while travelling in the Delhi Metro, and you will be able to do so in the coming days. In order to install 5G network equipment on the corridor'd pillars, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has begun the installation process.

The Yellow Line Metro's Samaypur Badli-Huda City Centre line will serve as the starting point, according to DMRC. On the 49 kilometre stretch from Huda City Centre to Samaypur Badli, there are 37 stations in total. Nearly 3 to 4 lakh passengers commute on this route on a daily basis.

DMRC issued an invitation to tender for the installation of 5G network hardware. The telecom provider will pay DMRC rent rather than installing 5G network. Per pillar, this rent will be assessed. The amount of the rent has yet not been decided. Only after the telecom firms have submitted an application, will the fare be determined.

Three phases have been established by DMRC to complete the installation of the 5G mobile network on pillars, starting with the first phase from Samaypur Badli to GTB nagar, followed by the second phase from Saket to Arjangarh, and the third phase from Arjangarh to Huda City Centre. 5G mobile network infrastructure will be installed by Delhi Metro on 795 pillars along this route.

The Airport Line of the Delhi Metro, which connects New Delhi with Dwarka Sector 21, will soon reach Dwarka Sector 25. The expanding area already has a 5G Network facility. This subterranean passageway is prepared.
