Tata Consultancy Services offers end-to-end consulting and software services

to the telecom industry. The company has registered a turnover of Rs 597.06

crore in the last fiscal. This forms 19 percent of its total revenues which

stood at Rs 3142.43 crore.

TCS has recently developed a proprietary-consulting model called Mobile-Org

to enable organizations to get into mobile computing technology. It also assists

telcos in business process reengineering and provides consultation to regulatory

bodies. On the services domain, it offers complete IT turnkey solutions to

telcos — processes to OSS architecture, design to implementation. Products

offered include Usage Mediator, which is a solution to collect, process and

distribute service usage data from different network elements like wireline,

wireless, mobile and other network services.

The company’s clientele includes British Telecom, Nokia, Lucent

Technologies. It also runs an offshore development center for Nortel in Mumbai

for software development, and support for the latter’s products. In Hyderabad,

TCS has set up an offshore development center for Ericsson to provide high-end

solutions like digital switching, access networks , intelligent networks etc..

TCS has recently forayed into the call center business in alliance with HDFC

bank.
